Fifth Annual Missing Children’s Awareness and Prevention Rally

by | May 16, 2019

Florida National University (FNU), its POWERHOUSE, and the Dr. Jose Regueiro Foundation have collaborated to present the Fifth Annual Missing Children’s Awareness and Prevention Rally.

Providence Healthcare Services is proud to support the Fifth Annual Missing Children’s Awareness and Prevention Rally.  As a member of the POWERHOUSE, we invite you to join us at this life-saving event scheduled on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 10:00 am at the FNU Hialeah Campus, 4425 W Jose Regueiro (20th) Avenue, Hialeah, FL 33012.  Many elementary, middle and high school students and their parents will attend the awareness and prevention rally at FNU joined by dignitaries, law enforcement officials, corporate and non-profit entities.  This rally serves as a reminder to continue our efforts to reunite missing children with their families as well as educate more than a thousand youth that attend every year. There will be numerous experts that will inform and educate the crowd on the many tactics that criminals utilize to steal our children every day. Tips and facts are given on how to prevent further victimizations. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports that roughly 800,000 children are reported as missing in the United States each year.  Of those children that are reported missing, about 20 percent are not found alive. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed May 25th as National Missing Children’s Day. Missing Children’s Day is dedicated to encouraging parents, guardians, caregivers, and others concerned with the well-being of children to make child safety a priority. For more information or for a sponsorship opportunity, please contact Rachel Tourgeman FNU Community Relations Director (786) 281-1000.
