Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties Family Friendly Hands is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and moral support for parents/caregivers of children and adults with special needs.
The company’s founder, Elsa Clarke, knows first-hand the challenges that parents face, as she herself was once in their shoes. Elsa’s youngest child, Alfonso Robert Clarke, was born completely healthy, but at three years of age he contracted encephalitis from a mosquito bite. Due to Alfonso’s medical complications, Elsa had to immediately learn how to care for a child with special needs. Sixteen years later, in addition to caring for her child, Elsa is also a strong advocate for families with children in similar situations through her foundation, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties Family Friendly Hands.
Elsa states, “Due to all that I have learned, I can be a help to other parents that are dealing with similar situations by being their voice at a local and state level”. Elsa has developed many positive relationships in the community with government agencies, fellow advocates, government officials and elected representatives devoted to improving the lives of individuals with special needs.
Elsa hosts conferences, training sessions, and participates in numerous committees striving to meet common goals within the community. Providence Healthcare Services is happy so support Elsa in her endeavor to educate and assist families in our community.
